Lightning Caused Fire
The smoke you see on the rim adjacent from us is smoke from the Chimney Fire. Here are a few details as provided by Inciweb:
Incident Overview:
The Chimney Fire was a lightning caused fire found on July 9 at 5:53 p.m.
As of July 24 at 8 a.m. it was 30 acres and is being suppressed today with burnout operations.
The fire will have a lot of smoke approximately 10 miles south of Kachina Village, 1 mile west of mile post 325 on Interstate 17. The smoke may impact Munds Park, Mountainaire and Pine Canyon today and drain into Sedona overnight.
Resources assigned are three engines.
