We’re not sure if you’ve heard that this Saturday is the last day of 2016! Amazing. That being said, the Holidays will soon be over with some Christmas Trees and decorations being taken down. Live Christmas Trees are an explosive danger in a home when they become dry. It’s always a good idea to get rid of that ,(used to be “live”) Christmas Tree! The Jerome Fire Department runs a locked burn pile at UVX & Beale Street. Several Christmas trees have already begun to appear in our burn pile. We appreciate the intent, but would also appreciate a phone call so that we may come by and unlock the burn pile and have you place your Christmas tree and any other slash/brush to the rear & center of the pile.
Also, please remember that the International Fire Code states that no Christmas/Holiday decorations are to be left up beyond 90 days. The Arizona sun plays havoc on plastic electrical cords and all fire codes have be born from disaster. In other words, none of us are exempt from old cords, overloaded sockets, old power strips, etc., from starting a fire in our homes. We would rather stress Prevention than Fire Suppression!
Have a Fantastic 2017 everyone and please, Stay Safe!
