Third Annual Firewise Community Day
May 4, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
We hope to see you Saturday May 4th for our third annual Firewise Community Day. The event will be held from 10 to 2 at the Fire Station.
Since Jerome became a Firewise Community in 2017, we choose to celebrate the annual Nationwide Firewise Community Day. Across the nation, Firewise Communities come together to clean up around their homes. This could be attending to those cluttered drainage gutters; maybe remove debris or what we call “fuels” from your roof. How about raking around your yard to eliminate leaves, twigs, dried grass, weeds, etc. Well, we at the Jerome FD have our very own Firewise crew. These men are wildland certified and are knowledgeable of our unique and dangerous terrain. Since we and our neighbors spend 12 months removing unwanted fuels in one way or another from town and mine properties, we like to get together once a year and spend some time with our neighbors. Do you have any suggestions, comments, concerns, etc? Please drop by, have a bite to eat, be entertained with some live music, and perhaps pick up on a tidbit or two about how you can help you, your neighbors and your communities efforts in remaining a Firewise Community!
